Hi everyone,
Just writing a small intro to let you know we are switching publishing platforms to create what is hopefully a better user experience for all.
What is this newsletter?
In this newsletter, we cover a different relevant topic every week, to (hopefully) give you an overview of why that topic is important and a sampling of the best content that is available on the topic, so you can explore it more deeply. The content is selected based on the suggestions of different industry and academic experts and hours of research from our research assistant. It’s published 1x per week on Thursday or Friday at 12:30 pm CET, 6:30 am EST.
Who’s on the mailing list?
Friends, family, and folks who have independently subscribed to Qwoll. If you wish to be taken off, you can unsubscribe at any time. The published content is also available at qwoll.substack.com.
May I share it?
Absolutely, this isn’t a private mailing list, and I’d love you to share it! You can also comment and like posts.
What’s Qwoll?
Qwoll is an early stage Berlin-based start-up focused around the topic of lifelong learning and continuing education. We are a small team in the process of developing a suite of digital consumer products that will allow you to accessibly and efficiently engage in your own learning inquiry and investigation.
The name comes from ‘quelle’, German for “source”. ie. we want to bring you to the best sources of information and thereby be a hub for knowledge. - qwoll.io
Why Qwoll?
“We are drowning in information but starved of knowledge” - John Naisbitt
The “fourth estate” plays a vital role in society and government. But to briefly criticize the media establishment, it’s business model is reliant on continuously churning our new information; it often out of necessity politicizes things before it fully explains them leading to mis-information and dis-information, and hurting the possibility for shared understanding.
Further, we have a challenge that the modern knowledge economy requires almost always advancing our knowledge and understanding of complex topics, while we are all constrained by limited time… thus, the motivation to start Qwoll! (even if we only make a tiny dent in these big problems.)
Thanks for your interest & support!
Best,
Kyle
